Signs ‘a good investment’

Councillor Watson McAteer has welcomed news of a funding boost towards a £5,000 project to have speed-activated road safety signs
installed at either side of the Burnfoot Hub.

Speaking at last Tuesday night’s Burnfoot Community Council meeting, Mr McAteer said £3,000 had been secured through Scottish Borders Council’s Quality of Life Scheme.

He added: “The signs are quite expensive, but it’s a good investment.”

“In terms of SBC adding the other £2,000 to the project, that will be in April, into the new financial year.”
