Sentence deferred on man who admitted shoplifting

A shop thief had sentence deferred for three months until October 21.

At Jedburgh Sheriff Court, Jamie Collins, 29, of McLaren Court, admitted stealing a quantity of DVDs from Morrisons on October 7 last year.

He also admitted stealing pens from WH Smith in High Street, and groceries from Londis, Sandbed.

On December 11, Collins admitted stealing a socket set from Lidl, Wilton Path.

n A woman who drove when over twice the alcohol limit was placed on probation for 18 months and banned from driving for two years.

Christine Tweedie, 46, of Maxton Court, admitted driving a car in Duke Street on January 4 last year with a breath/alcohol reading of 93mcgs – the legal limit being 35.
