HAWICK folk n’ roll rockers Scocha are to headline the 8th International Highland Games in Angelbachtal.

The hugely popular group travel to the German town, which is around 70 miles south of Frankfurt, today, in preparation for their headlining set tomorrow night.

It will be the third time the band have played in Germany although this is the first gig abroad with the new line-up. And they have gathered quite a following, with their CD gaining regular airplay on Schotten Radio Station.

Band member Davie Chapman said: “The reception we have had on our previous trips has been absolutely fantastic and the guys are really looking forward to playing to the 7,500 crowd on Saturday night.”

Davie revealed the schedule for the second half of the year is busy. “We have one or two really exciting projects on the go just now,” he said.

Scocha are in discussion about a return to New York in 2014; they have confirmed a visit to Mittelneufnach in Bavaria next November; and the new CD will be out in the new year.
