THE high school is holding a ‘Rediscover Textiles’ day at the end of this month.
The event, which is being held in the assembly hall on June 29 (10am-7pm), is a chance for members of the public to meet employers from the textiles industry across the Borders, to see what the companies make and what training and jobs are available.
Organiser Clair Hood said: “Over the years, an immense array of skills and market knowledge has been developed, not only in manufacturing but also in IT, marketing, sales and design.
“Today’s textile industry is dramatically different from 20 years ago. And the industry is especially keen to attract young people and this means job opportunities at all levels.”
The event will run from 10am until 7pm.
