Scottish Borders Council has this week apologised to local residents over the “ongoing inconvenience” caused by the road closure in Mansfield Road.
And the local authority has pledged to provide householders with a “further update” once design and repair works have been finalised.
A council spokesperson said: “A meeting was held last week between council officers and appointed consultants to discuss progress and timescales for the design of the repair to be carried out to Mansfield Road.
“Following these discussions, it is now anticipated that a formal design should be available for approval during the second week in March.
“An information letter was distributed earlier this week to local residents and businesses updating them of the current situation.
“We wish to apologise to the residents of Mansfield Road, Eastfield Road and Rosevale Street for the ongoing inconvenience caused by this road closure and a further update will be provided once the design has been approved and the repair works programmed.”
