At last Thursday’s Camera Club meeting, guest speaker Russell Turner gave an illustrated talk entitled “My Hero”, about a person named Gerry who changed his life completely. Russell, who originally lived in Yorkshire but now resides near the Black Isle, was a journalist to trade and in his spare time played bass guitar in a band in village pubs and small-hall venues around the north of Scotland.
He took up photography and became a member of the Royal Photographic Society with the distinction of Licentiate member (LRPS). He is currently working on a children’s book.
The annual photographic exhibition will be held in the clubrooms at 78 High Street from October 28-November 1, with a digital sequence show each evening at 7.15pm, plus Wednesday matinee at 2.30pm.
