Newmill and Teviothead’s open night began with a talk and slideshow on the history between Langholm and Hawick by Ian Landles and Billy Young. This proved to be extremely popular, evidenced by the high attendance of both our own members and visitors from invited rurals.
Billy gave an interesting and informative talk, mainly about landmarks and buildings on the way to Hawick from Langholm, with slides showing both old and current views.
Ian’s talk was mainly about landmarks and events in and around Hawick, interspersed with his trademark hilarious anecdotes.
