THE Thorterdykes Roadhouse is re-opening in time for the Common-Riding.
The popular Rosebank Road hostelry has been closed all year, but proprietor Alan Bates has confirmed that the pub will be open ahead of the usual celebrations.
Having re-opened last night in time for the Chase, Mr Bates told the Hawick News: “It is right enough that we are opening up again. It was just that we decided to close during a quiet spell at Christmas and New Year, but we were always aiming to be back up and running, and this is the right time to do it.”
He added: “For the main week next week we’ll be open as usual from the Thursday morning, and having the usual party outside at The Shed on Friday and Saturday.”
