TWO antisocial behaviour warnings have been handed out to youths on mopeds.

Police have revealed they are making a “concerted effort” following several complaints from the public about the way youngsters are riding the vehicles in the town centre.

PC Steven Irvine said: “This means that both the rider and moped will remain on the police system for 12 months with severe consequences for both rider and machine should either come to the adverse attention of the police again during this period.”

The warning stays with the vehicle and driver even if the moped is sold to someone else.
