Police have today named the woman who was killed in a car crash on the A698 on Thursday afternoon.
She was 34-year-old Kirsty Parker, from Denholm, a mother of four children aged 1, 9, 12 and 16 years. The three youngest children were also injured in the collision near Ashybank and received hospital treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
Kirsty is also survived by her partner, mother, father, two sisters and a half-brother.
Police sergeant Iain Blain told the Hawick News: “This tragic incident has resulted in Kirsty’s death and I offer my sincere condolences to her family.
“We are continuing to investigate the full circumstances and would be keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed something, especially anyone who hasn’t already come forward.
“I believe some people were assisting at the time of the collision and I would be keen to speak to them.”
