Plea for Burnfoot residents to speak up

The newly-appointed chairman of Burnfoot Community Council has extended a warm invitation for residents to attend Tuesday night’s monthly meeting.

Boosting public attendance of the regular meetings is high on Michael Grieve’s agenda as he takes over at the helm following Richard Knight’s recent resignation due to other commitments. And there is also a new push on to recruit more members. Mr Grieve told the Hawick News: “We need some more active members, but we would also love residents to come along and particpate and tell us what their concerns may be.”

There are updates from local councillors and the police, and a chance for the public to ask questions. Monday’s agenda also includes the appointment of a new secretary, project updates including Burnfoot Community Futures, and suggestions for SB Small Schemes. The meeting is held in the staff room of Burnfoot Community School at 7pm.
