SCOTTISH Borders Pipe Band will compete in the inaugural Edinburgh Pipe Band Championships on Sunday.

The newly-formed outfit, a collaboration between Hawick and Stow Pipe Bands, is entered in the grade three and four categories under the leadership of Pipe Major Stuart Robinson, and will be joined by bands from across Scotland including Inveraray and District, Glenrothes and District, Newtongrange, Turriff and District and the Pipes and Drums of Central Scotland Police.

Pipe Major Robinson said: “The Edinburgh Championships is a welcome addition to the piping calendar, and we’re really looking forward to competing on the day.

“It promises to be a great competition and we hope to build on our winning performance at the Scottish Championships.”
