A HALLOWEEN bash has helped swell the coffers of a children’s cancer charity by over £1,000.

More than 100 people attended the fancy dress party in the Volunteer Park clubrooms after event organiser Kirstie Brown decided to celebrate Halloween in style and donate the proceeds to a good cause.

She explained: “It was my New Year’s resolution to do something big for charity and decided between myself, Caroline Scott, Leigh Thomson, Paul Robson and Keith Mabon to organise the party and donate the money.”

Kirstie – who said they chose the CLIC Sargent charity because of its great work with cancer-stricken youngsters –added: “The party was brilliant. It was really busy all night and everyone had a great time.

“Also, the effort everyone went to with costumes was unbelievable.

“Overall, it was just a massive success.”
