“Breastfeeding is key to better health in
babies” was the key message at the third annual NHS Borders Bump to Baby day at Teviotdale Leisure Centre.

Held to promote the support available to women who are breastfeeding, the event also offered the opportunity to meet with professionals and local organisations that can provide help and information about pregnancy and being a parent.

Dr Eric Baijal, NHS Borders’ director of public health, said: “Breastfeeding is key to better health in babies, and we want to foster a culture where this is the natural and preferred way for mothers to feed babies where possible.”
