A NEW mum has spoken of her disgust after discovering that her baby’s pram had been stolen from outside her house this week.
Twenty-four-year-old Ashley Sim’s four-week-old baby has become the victim of crime after thieves struck on Monday night.
The Arthur Street resident told the Hawick News: “The pram was in the close at the back which you can’t see unless you look, so someone must have known it was kept there.
“It was at around 7.20pm that we noticed it was gone, and what gets me is there is other valuable stuff there including a motorbike, but they just took our pram.”
She added: “It’s disgusting someone would take it and quite upsetting.” Miss Sim, also mum to a 21-month-old tot, says she will now have to borrow a friend’s pram in the meantime. And she cautioned: “I would like to warn other people to be careful, because I don’t fancy this happening to someone else.”
A police spokesperson confirmed they are investigating the theft of a Silver Cross pram from Arthur Street. He added: “We would appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward, and to anyone who may be offered a pram at a minimal cost.”
