VODAFONE is to review how it handles customer complaints after recent network problems blighted the area.
Representatives from the mobile phone giants met with Hawick MSP John Lamont this week.
Mr Lamont said: “They have agreed to review how their customer services team handles calls from customers who are facing problems.
“Too many customers were told by the call centre staff that there was a normal service which was clearly not the case.
“And to ensure repairs are carried out more quickly, the company have given me an assurance that they will put in place arrangements so that they are able to get access to the mast as soon as possible after the fault is reported.”
