A local supermarket is pulling out all the stops in a bid to raise thousands of pounds for two good causes.
Morrisons’ Hawick branch has organised a week-long series of events in aid of Sue Ryder and the Royal Voluntary Service, which works with older people in Hawick and Denholm – and the fund-raising gets under way on Tuesday with an opportunity to sample selected products in the store, followed by two days of fancy dress bag-packing for customers.
Next Friday sees a more fitness-focused approach with a cycleathon, before a fun day and car boot day on Saturday. The week will finish with a taste comparison event at the store.
Hawick branch manager Sharon McKendrick said: “We’re aiming to raise £2,000 for Sue Ryder and the Royal Voluntary Service, and we’re inviting our customers to come along, get involved in the activities, and hopefully donate to these two great causes.”
