The children of Drumlarig school’s nursery and primary on classes have become budding young gardeners thanks to a donation of plants from Morrisons.
The school’s youngest pupils donned their wellies and coats for the outdoor lesson and were joined by supermarket employee, and also a parent at the school, Chris Monaghan.
Mr Monaghan helped the children to plant trees and shrubs for the winter in the nursery garden, and afterwards he was full of praise for their effort and conduct, stating: “The children were really well behaved and very polite. It was a pleasure to go along.”
Staff at the school are also thrilled with the result, with head teacher Jeanette Gordon telling the Hawick News: “Many thanks to Morrisons for their generous donation. The garden looks blooming lovely!”
