The Met Office has issued an Amber warning for wind for parts of the Scottish Borders.
Areas north of a line from Biggar, Peebles, Galashiels, Earlston and Duns will experience the severest wind; to the south of this line there is a yellow warning for strong to gale force winds.
There is a Yellow warning from 9am Monday to 9am Tuesday, and the Amber warning is from 3pm today until 9am tomorrow. The highest winds are expected in the Borders from 8pm this evening, continuing overnight.
Met Office Warning:
Southwesterly gales will begin to develop widely across northern parts of the UK during Monday, increasing further to bring locally severe gales and storm force westerly winds by Monday night before easing on Tuesday morning. Gusts of 60 to 70 mph are likely quite widely. Much of Scotland is covered by an associated amber wind warning, where winds will be stronger still and there is a risk of higher levels of disruption.
