HAWICK Knitwear managing director Benny Hartop has revealed the company has a production target of 9,500 sweaters per week from now until the end of September.
Mr Hartop was speaking this week after opening the mill’s doors to Michael Moore MP, John Lamont MSP, officials from Scottish Enterprise and local suppliers.
Mr Hartop said: “Our order book is strong and the company is doing well in terms of sales. We believe we are the largest knitwear company left in UK, in manufacturing terms, and have a production target of 9,500 sweaters per week from now until the end of September.”
