OBSTRUCTING a paramedic as he tried to assist him has resulted in William Peacock being ordered to carry out 160 hours of unpaid work.

The 23-year-old of New Street, Musselburgh, appeared at Jedburgh Sheriff Court where he pleaded guilty to headbutting and punching a window in Howegate on May 4.

He also admitted refusing to leave an ambulance after not co-operating with a paramedic trying to treat him, uttering threats of violence and kicking out.

Sheriff Donald Corke said: “Emergency workers are entitled to go about their duties without being assaulted or obstructed.”
