It’s time for CouncillorBell get his priorities right

CAN I respectfully advise Councillor Stuart Bell, the council’s executive member for economic development, that rather than issue bland comments to the press (Hawick News, July 5), that he should be prioritising a lot more of his time and energy on the long overdue revitalisation of Hawick High Street.

Only this week, Thomson the travel agents has shut up shop, and that end of the street is fast becoming a real eyesore.

If Mr Bell were a businessman looking to relocate his firm, would he seriously consider the High Street in its present state as a suitable location? I think not.
