Film club resumes

A LOCAL film club is preparing to enter its tenth year by opening a new winter season next month.

The Little Theatre Film Club, founded in 2003 with grants from the National Lottery and the Scottish Arts Council, will recommence on October 7 with a screening of The Glen Miller Story.

All films scheduled for viewing are picked by members, and further titles include Cat On A Hot Tin Rood, How Green Was My Valley, My Week With Marilyn, and The Student Prince.

Club officials plan to stage more social events for members this year, with a Christmas dinner likely to be helf at J.D. Weatherspoon.

The club’s cinema will be open a week tomorrow (Saturday, September 29) from 10am-noon to deal with membership renewals, which cost £20. The following Saturday at the same time, the same service will be available at Deans & Simpson on Oliver Place.
