CRIME in Burnfoot is down.
Recorded crime throughout the month of August totalled 17, ten of which were solved by police.
Out of that figure there were no violent crimes for the month; five crimes of dishonesty (two solved); and six incidents of vandalism (two solved).
Community beat officer John Irvine told a meeting of Burnfoot Community Council this week that, in the year to date, there have been 64 crimes recorded, compared to 66 for the same time last year.
CBO Irvine (pictured) said: “I would encourage everybody to keep reporting things and if they have names of suspects, to pass them on and we’ll do our best to get the crimes solved.”
