CRIME in Burnfoot continues to fall.

At a meeting of the community council on Tuesday night, PC Steven Sutherland reported that there had been 60 calls made to the police so far this month, averaging at just over two calls a day.

Of those, only five were involving youths, and PC Sutherland said: “I’m pleased to report that not one was concerning the shops or Kenilworth Avenue.”

There were nine antisocial behaviour calls, one theft, two vandalism and five assault/disturbances.

PC Sutherland added: “The figures show a drop of 11 per cent on last year which is quite encouraging.”
