‘ROBBIE Williams’ from Party on the Pitch headliners Take That Reunited says the band can’t wait to play in front of the Hawick crowd.

Tomorrow’s eagerly anticipated musical extravaganza has become a firm fixture in the local calendar and one of the highlights of the Summer Festival, and with the popular tribute act to the superstar boy band being booked to round off the day at Buccleuch Park, it looks set to once again attract a crowd of thousands.

Singer ‘Robbie,’ real name Jamie Reeves, from Wigan, told the Hawick News: “We are really excited about performing in Hawick and can’t wait to get up in front of everyone.”

And describing the show which the five-piece from the north west of England perform all over the country, Jamie added: “Our performance is a replica of what Take That have been doing over the summer on their Progress tour, with Gary, Jason, Howard and Mark performing first, Robbie doing some of his solo stuff, and then the five of them being reunited.”

“We sing some of the new hits and the old ones too.”

But music fans will be well entertained throughout the day by an impressive line-up which will see Shtumm, Five Dollar Shake, X-Factor Boot Camp act Chris Tame, and, making a welcome return after playing at the very first Party on the Pitch five years ago, are Rocking Horse.

And away from the stage the organising committee has ensured a plethora of activities and attractions, ranging from bungee runs, to special effects make-up, that will keep the whole family entertained.

Summer Festival chairman Raymond Wood said: We’ve got some great bands and made sure it’s a change from last year, and there are some new attractions as well. We just hope the weather is kind, but if not people should bring their gazebos and wellies and still make a day of it.”
