A drunken man struggled with police and had to be taken to the ground.
Derek Wightman, of Eildon Road, admitted struggling violently with officers at his home on February 15.
“This incident was fuelled by alcohol,” explained prosecutor Tessa Bradley.
Solicitor Ed Hulme, defending, said his client had reacted badly to a false allegation, and struggled with the officers. “He apologises for his behaviour,” said Mr Hulme.
“What happened was fuelled by drink and an unfair allegation,” said Sheriff Peter Anderson, “but you made the job of two police officers very difficult.”
Wightman was fined £200 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
