A drunken man assaulted a female police constable and repeatedly threatened a male officer.

Forty-seven-year-old James Jackson, of Galalaw, denied, whilst heavily intoxicated, shouting and swearing and committing a breach of the peace in Mart Street on October 15 last year.

He also denied assaulting a female police constable and attempting to kick her, and repeatedly uttering threats to a male police officer.

Jackson was found guilty after trial, and sentence was deferred until October 31 to be dealt with by Sheriff Kevin Drummond, who presided over the trial.
