Threatening sexual violence towards two women resulted in a man being placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 12 months.
Remo Nardini, 56, of Ramsay Road, denied threatening or abusive behaviour in Ramsay Road on January 19, but was found guilty after trial.
Nardini admitted a second charge of recklessly damaging a cat flap in Ramsay Road on January 23. Defence solicitor Rory Bannerman told Selkirk Sheriff Court the offences were “a neighbour dispute.
“He went over the score with the comments that he made,” conceded Mr Bannerman, who described his client as “a chef to trade”. He added that Nardini suffered from ill-health and had been under a great deal of pressure at the time.
He was sentenced to a 12-month Community Payback Order, with 120 hours of unpaid work.
