Police in break-in witness plea

Police are appealing for witnesses following a break-in at a shop in the early hours of yesterday morning (Wednesday).

The incident happened around 2.30am at the Hair Port premises in Bourtree Place.

The front window of the premises was smashed and property and a three-figure sum of cash stolen.

Officers are now urging anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Adrian Dixon told the Hawick News: “We are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in the early hours of Wednesday to please get in touch.

“Similarly, if anyone has any other information that can assist us with our inquiries into this incident, we would ask them to contact us on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
