Drugs man has sentence deferred

SENTENCE has been deferred on a man who had over £90 worth of controlled drugs.

Richard Redmond, 23, of Rosevale Sreet, admitted possession of cannabis and diazepam at his home on April 3 last year.

Police found 1.5gms of cannabis worth £17, and 206 Diazepam tablets in two bags, valued at £80.

Defence solicitor Rory Bannerman said his client had been “self-medicating at the time.”

Sheriff John Halley deferred sentence for a report until May 16, telling the accused, “You do demonstrate some level of persistence in this type of offence.”
