A driver was caught over the alcohol limit in a police road check.
Lukasz Mordasrki, 29, of Crumhaugh Road, admitted driving a car in Commerical Road on October 16 with a breath/alcohol reading of 34 mcgs – the legal limit being 22.
“Police were carrying out a road check at about 8.30pm,” explained procurator fiscal Graham Fraser, “and he was pulled over and found to be smelling of alohol.”
Defence solicitor Ed Hulme said his client, a Polish national, had moved to the UK in 2011, and was in full-time employment in Duns.
“He had a glass-and-a-half of port with a meal several hours before he was stopped,” said Mr Hulme.
Mordarski was fined £200 and banned from driving for 12 months.
