Cook book has recipe for success

A SECOND helping of a charity cook book is being served up after its first run was sold out.

Jan Little’s compilation of recipes, entitled Border Treasures, which was created to raise money for Macmillan Cancer and ward 16 at Borders General Hospital, proved so popular that a reprint has been ordered.

The 47-year-old, who was diagnosed with bowel cancer three years ago, told the Hawick News this week that all 500 initial copies had been sold, with a further 400 set to hit the shelves next month.

She said: “I want to say a huge thank-you to all who bought the book and to those who sold it on my behalf – Hairport, Alister Pow Butcher, Chas N. Whillans, Fun2Do, Langholm Gallery, Forsyth’s Butcher Peebles and Caldwell’s Innerleithen, as well as individuals.

“It sold out in just over a week and I really appreciate everyone’s help towards these good causes.

“The books will be on sale at the same outlets as well as some shops in Jedburgh, Kelso and Stow.”
