Concerns raised over parking in Sandbed

THE increasing amount of vans being parked in and around the Sandbed area is causing concern for the police, according to Hawick community beat officer Keith Murray.

The community council received a report from PC Murray which stated that delivery vehicles making stops around the Sandbed and near the Albert Bridge were creating problems for other traffic and pedestrians.

Community council chairman John Hope added: “People parking on the pavements and at the start of the bridge is causing the public to have to go on the road. It’s definitely a real safety concern which needs to be addressed.”
