Santa got to see the new Burnfoot Community Hub for himself when he visited Hawick during the worse of the bad weather last weekend.
He was there to join in the switching on of the Christmas lights at Burnfoot but instead of the event taking place outside as originally planned it was decided they would all take shelter in the new building.

It's definitely Christmas time in Burnfoot
It takes more than a bit - or rather a lot of rain - to put off Burnfoot folk and there was a good turn-out of residents for the lights switch-on, plus lots of children eager to see Santa and tell him what they would like for Christmas.
After the official switch on everyone tucked into the mince pies, hot chocolate, mulled wine, while Santa handed out bags of sweets to the children.
“Burnfoot Community Futures would like to take this opportunity to thank the co-op for their time and donation of goods to support the Christmas light switch on,” said a spokesperson for the hub committee.
“I would like to thank all the community, volunteers, directors and staff who braved the weather conditions and attended the Christmas light switch on.”
