At last Thursday’s meeting, local artist and Borders College lecturer, Siobhan O’Hehir, from Galashiels, took on the job of judging the sequence competition which consisted of 16 digital “slide” shows.
Each sequence varied in subject matter, ranging from colourful floral gardens within private estates, to a West Highland railway trip, a documentary featuring the poignant display of ceramic poppies at the Tower of London, through several European travel documentaries and on to exquisitely built cathedrals and temples in the far-off Philippines.
Results: Projected sequences; 1, Pollphail Village, by Bernie Gajos; 2, Fort William to Mallaig, by Bert Lancaster; 3, Wormhout, France, by Gordon Gilfether. Prints: Life Cycle, by Dennis Laing.
The evening concluded with club president Anna Lee proposing a vote of thanks for a task well done. The meeting on Thursday will feature a monochrome images competition and will be judged by Pat Rafferty.
