Camera Club focuses on trophy presentations

Hawick Camera Club’s annual general meeting took place last week with club president Anna Lee chairing the proceedings.

Following matters of club business, Anna presented trophies to the winners of each of various categories as follows:

The Bill Ellis Shield was awarded to Bert Lancaster for projected sequences. The Gaylor Cup to Sel (J) Messer for projected image of the year. The F-Stop Shield and the Challenge Cup were both awarded to Brian Marriott for portraiture and projected images throughout the year respectively.

The Cummings Trophy, the Derek Lunn Trophy, the Hopekirk Trophy and the Bill Nelson (Glass Sculpture), all to Ali Graham for landscapes, prints throughout the year, print of the year and monochrome photography respectively.

George Sudlow received a certificate in respect of his Print Sequences and Norma Graham was awarded the Novice Trophy for best new member.

The meeting then continued with the election of office bearers as follows: President: Anna Lee; Vice-President: Dennis Laing; Secretary: Bert Lancaster; Treasurer: Sandy McVittie; Syllabus Secretaries: Norma Graham & Edith McLean; Publicity Secretary: Bill Neil; Competition Secretary: Ali Graham; Website Manager: Kenny Baillie; Committee: Jimmy Anderson, Eric Scotland and (ex-officio) John Hill.

This concludes the 2013/14 winter season of meetings, the club will resume again at the end of September.

There will be a summer outing in June, a date has yet to be announced.
