TERIES are being invited to make a date with the Calendar Girls later this month.
The Two Rivers Theatre Company is set to stage the Tim Firth play in the town hall on September 18 and 20, and at the Buccleuch Centre in Langholm on September 21.
One of the local cast contacted original ‘Calendar Girl’ Angela Baker, whose husband John died of lymphoma in 1998, and received the following message: “We could never have dreamed that the Calendar would be such a phenomenon . . . we have raised over £2million.”
And Two Rivers is pledging to make its own donation to cancer charities from the upcoming shows.
Tickets for the Hawick performances are on sale at ILF Imaging on 379757, while briefs for Langholm are available from the Buccleuch Centre on 013873 81196.
