The Hawick in Bloom group is appealing for volunteers to help with this summer’s floral projects.
The green-fingered bunch have enlisted the help of former parks boss John Inglis but are keen to see others lend a hand.
Speaking to the Hawick News this week, Community Council chairwoman Marion Short, who is chairing the bloom committee on a temporary basis, said: “John Inglis has very kindly agreed to lead this group in an advisory capacity.
“John is vastly experienced in this field and his assistance will be invaluable. Everyone is really excited that he has agreed to help us. This is a great boost for Hawick in Bloom.”
However, Mrs Short is keen to enlist more help this summer and added: “The group manages quite an area and several different projects so if anyone is looking to get involved and feels they have something to offer please feel free to get in touch. I would be delighted to hear from them.”
