Band drumming up support for new instructor

HAWICK Scout Pipe Band has issued an urgent appeal for a drum instructor.

Pipe Major Michael Bruce has urged anyone who could contribute fortnightly or monthly to volunteer their services, and help their keen budding young players.

He stated: “Due to the lack of a regular tutor some have drifted away and I fear more may follow unless we get someone to fill the gap. It would be a real shame if that talent and enthusiasm was lost from the band scene forever, merely through a lack of instruction.” Anyone interested can contact 374383, or go to a practice session at the Band Hall in Union Street, at 7.15pm, on any Thursday.
