THE annual Mosstroopers Ball was almost full to capacity last Friday when 170 people danced the night away in the town hall.
With traditional festive fayre served up by Brydon’s Bakery Restaurant and the Cornet’s party in attendance as guests, the popular December shindig had all the right ingredients for a great night.
And according to president Cameron Kyle, it has even been hailed as one of the best yet. He told the Hawick News: “It was a really good night. The Stevie T Band and Jock Thomson were on great form, and we were only five couples away from capacity so it’s more popular than ever. I’ve had lots of good reports with some people even saying it was the best they’ve been to, so you can’t ask for more than that.”
He added: “The Cornet’s Reel is always a highlight, but for me the best part was the Grand March as it’s the start of the night and you’re up there along with the Cornet and the committee. The whole night was a great success.
“It’s always a great party night for this time of year.”
