Antisocial reports reach 100 for June

Police dealt with 100 reports of antisocial behaviour in the Hawick area in June, resulting in 14 fixed penalties and 13 people being monitored.

The figures were revealed at the June meeting of Hawick Community Council in the lesser town hall.

Officers carried out 27 stop and searches in the battle against substance misuse which resulted in three confiscations of alcohol.

There were no traffic offences in the Hawick and Hermitage ward, while in the Hawick and Denholm area one motorist was issued with a fixed penalty for driving while using a mobile phone.

Incidents in the Hawick and Hermitage ward included an attempted murder and robbery and two sex crimes which were both solved, as well as 12 vandalisms with one solvency. A house in Burnfoot was raided which resulted in the recovery of drugs. A male and a female have been reported.
