Anne crowned Citizen of the Year

THE community council's annual Citizen of the Year accolade has been awarded to high school teacher Anne Scott.

The home economics teacher was revealed as the 2008 winner at a meeting on Tuesday night, following three weeks of nominations. Mrs Scott is renowned for her hard work in raising funds to improve facilities for the school's additional needs pupils.

Community council chairman Kevin Ferguson, also pictured, said: "Anne is a very deserving winner from several nominations for various members of the community."

After being presented with the award, Mrs Scott said: "I am accepting this on behalf of all those whose teamwork goes into everything we do."
