Mill’s boost for charities

Barrie’s two-pronged fund-raising appeal in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer Awareness saw workers wearing pink for the day.

Gareth Renwick, apprentice mechanic, donned a pink cowboy hat and pink feather boa while collecting employee donations which reached £170. The mill also held a bake sale in the canteen which realised £346.16, bumping the total up to £516.16.

Barrie director Jim Carrie said the firm would donate a further £500, making a grand total of £1,016.46.
