BORDERS College pair Chris Punter and Ally Bell cooked up a storm recently at the Restaurant Martin Wishart in Edinburgh.
The Level Three Catering students, from Hawick, enjoyed the short stint at one of the UK’s most acclaimed fine dining venues, which currently holds one Michelin star and four AA rosettes, as part of a placement programme from the college. Chris said: “It has been a really good experience and has given me some good ideas on food combinations and presentation.”
Ally and Chris are the first students to be been given this chance through Borders College. While working in the Leith restaurant they helped prepare food and watched how the UK Chef of the Year 2010 and his team work.
