One of the most highly-regarded and creative forces on the Scottish music scene kicks off the live music season at Etal next Saturday (February 20).
Findlay Napier made his name touring and recording with multi-award winning traditional Scottish folk band Back of the Moon.
In his more recent projects “Queen Anne’s Revenge” and “The Bar Room Mountaineers” his song-writing took centre stage and was described by The Sunday Herald as “Genuine songcraft and wit following in the Difford & Tilbrook tradition”.
Findlay is also well known as the host of Celtic Connections’ Late Night Sessions and for his Hazy Recollections concert series which showcases the very best in new roots music.
His new album, VIP: Very Interesting Persons, contains ten songs about real life characters that have led very interesting lives.
Edith Bowman of Radio 1 said that the album was “A wonderful cacophony of bizarre and brilliant tales of real people.” It was co-written and produced by Boo Hewerdine.
Support on the night will be Borders flute player Freya Rae and guitarist Louis Bingham. See www.louisandfreya.com for further information.
Tickets are £12 and can be booked by e-mailing email@example.com or telephoning 01890 820566.
Doors open at 7.30pm, with the music starting at 8pm.
