Hawick Sings resumes fund-raising with Scocha show

A SERIES of entertainment held to raise money for charity will begin next week.

Renowned band Scocha will open ‘Hawick Sings’ on Wednesday (July 4) at 7.30pm in the Burns Club, and further performances from a host of local acts will make for an entertaining evening.

A season of shows will include a number of top acts, with The Saxhorn Band, The PSA Male Voice Choir and The Opera Group adding to the mix of musical styles.

Entry to the performances is free, but audience members are asked to contribute to a charity collection at the end of the night.

The event has raised more than £16,000 for local charities since its inception. The most recent donation was made on behalf of the Callants Club by president Gerald Adams, who presented a £200 cheque to Kath Campbell of the Hawick Arthritis Group.
