JACK Linton is the latest gold medal winner at Hawick Golf Club’s wee wonders competition.
The youngster was among a field of 18 entries who had to negotiate tricky pin positions and fast greens. As a result scores were slightly higher than previous, with Jack recording the winning total of 22. Sam Kelly took the silver medal on a count back after scoring 24, having the best last two holes with a pair of fours, which put Logan Gordon Wooley into the bronze medal position.
Logan’s brother Finnan also finished on 24 but was edged out on a count back while Anthony Webb showed up well with a 26.
There was special mention for a much improved performance from Jai Patterson, with a creditable 29 strokes.
