VERTISH Hill golfers Harry Forsyth and Dalton Redpath have been selected to play for the Border boys team on Sunday.

The talented twosome will play against the Fife boys team at Forrester Park Golf Club in Dunfermline.

Neither of them have ever played for the Borders before and they have been selected as a result of their outstanding achievements over the past year.

Harry plays off a handicap of seven and was a national finalist in last year’s Scottish Junior Masters.

The high school pupil told the Hawick News this week he was “chuffed to bits” with his Borders selection.

Fellow high school pupil Dalton, meanwhile, plays off seven and is the current Under 16s Borders champion.

He added: “It feels class to be selected for the Borders team and I really can’t wait to go up there and play against the Fife boys.”

However, both Harry, Dalton and their Borders team-mates will have to be at their very best over the championship par 72 course on Sunday as they will be up against the best team in Scotland.
