TEVIOTDALE ASC’s Scott and Jessica Wilcox (pictured), Kristie Waugh and Donald Gray took the plunge at Tollcross Pool in Glasgow for the Scottish open.

The event usually attracts competitors from all over the world and this year was no exception with top swimmers from Spain, Brazil and Tunisia, not to mention Britain’s own Rebecca Adlington, Hannah Miley, Jak Scott and Robbie Renwick.

Qualifying for a meet at this level is an achievement in itself and the Teviotdale quartet didn’t disappoint, with Scott reaching two ‘B’ finals, and recording personal best times in the 50m and 100m breaststroke.

Donald took five seconds off his personal best in the 100m breaststroke, while Kristie swam in all three breaststroke events, putting in a fine performance in the 50m, in which she finished third in her heat.

Jessica’s events were the freestyle and back crawl, and although up against some very tough competition, she stayed with the pack with some sgrong performances. Jessica also swam with the Borders relay team in their three events.
